A Growing Pipeline
SMOMT is the first project. It is not the only one.
The Association intends to actively develop and support a continuing pipeline of initiatives across all three of its sectors, including:
- Generic and branded pharmaceutical manufacturing partnerships — technology transfer and contract manufacturing arrangements consistent with Uzbekistan’s localization incentives.
- Bioequivalence laboratory development — directly addressing the gap identified in the World Bank’s 2026 Country Private Sector Diagnostic.
- Medical device distribution and local assembly — particularly in cardiology, diagnostics, and imaging, the fastest-growing device segments in the market.
- Cosmetics ingredient sourcing and contract manufacturing — leveraging Uzbekistan’s agricultural and natural raw-material base against rising regional and export demand for natural and organic formulations.
- Digital health and diagnostics — aligned with Uzbekistan’s national AI strategy, which includes healthcare analytics and digital government health services.
- Regional expansion — extending the Uzbekistan model to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan as the platform matures.
